Pressed flower artist, Ellie Roden, will be offering a 3-hour workshop (all materials supplied) on creating art with pressed flowers. Ellie will introduce ways to turn flowers, leaves, and other plant material into beautiful art. Various techniques for successful flower pressing and necessary tools and materials will be shared, including microwave flower pressing for perfect and immediate results. Ideas and tips for creating with pressed flowers will be presented with examples shown. Participants will then have the opportunity to create bookmarks, cards, ornament balls, and/or wall art with a wide variety of pressed flowers, leaves and stems.All materials will be provided. Sign up to experience the beauty of the Garden during the long winter months while going home with a work of art.

Meet Ellie Roden:
Ellie is a longtime resident of southern Vermont, retired primary school teacher, and avid flower gardener, has been creating art with pressed flowers for many years. She has always been intrigued with the beauty of flowers and presses them as a way to preserve their beauty. Ellie is a
self-taught pressed flower artist who has honed her craft over years of trial and error and careful observation. Her award-winning pressed flower art has been exhibited at shows and in galleries throughout New England and featured in two national publications.
